The excavator joystick is essentially a hydraulic pilot proportional control valve, which does not directly drive the excavator's movements, but only outputs 'control signal oil' to actuate the main multi-way valve, thereby controlling the speed and direction of movements.The excavator control lever is the control handle found on the left and right sides of the excavator cab, also known as the pilot control lever, hydraulic lever, or joystick. It is the core component through which the operator controls all actions of the excavator, equivalent to the "steering wheel and limbs" of the excavator.
Working Method
Control all actions of the excavator by pushing the joysticks in all directions:
• Boom lifting (main arm)
• Stick extension and retraction (secondary arm)
• Bucket opening and closing
• Left and right rotation of the cab
• Coordinate with the foot pedal valve to achieve movement
The working principle The handle contains a hydraulic pilot valve:
• You push the handle → the internal valve spool is pushed
• A low-pressure hydraulic signal is output
• The main hydraulic valve is controlled
• This allows the cylinder or motor to perform actions at different speeds and directions
Proportional control (speed regulation)
The greater the angle the handle is pushed, the larger the valve core opening → the higher the output oil pressure → the larger the main valve opening → the faster the boom, arm, bucket, and rotation movements.When the handle is released, the reset spring pulls the handle and valve core back to the middle position, cutting off the control oil circuit, relieving the pressure, returning the main valve, and stopping the action immediately.
