Excavator Hydraulic Pump K5V80DTP-9NPTO Main Piston Pump R150 Hydraulic Gear Pump for Hitachi Excavator Parts

Function
Serving as the power heart for excavator hydraulics, the main pump is driven by the engine. It transforms mechanical force into high-pressure hydraulic power and delivers pressurized fluid to boom, stick, bucket, travel and swing motors to carry out all working actions.

Type
Most construction excavators adopt axial variable piston pumps. Medium and large models use combined dual main pumps with a rear-mounted pilot gear pump.
The dual high-pressure pump features two separate oil supply circuits for the main control valve to realize combined movements, working pressure: 28~35MPa.
The tail-mounted low-pressure pilot pump runs at 3~4MPa with small flow, offering control oil for joysticks and main valve spools.

Internal Parts
Housing and cylinder block: Internal pistons rotate with the main shaft to finish oil intake and pressurization.
Adjusting the swash plate angle changes piston stroke and pump displacement.
The external regulator actuates the swash plate via hydraulic signals. Greater inclination means larger displacement, higher flow and faster operation; smaller inclination cuts fuel consumption and avoids engine stall.
The valve plate separates inlet and high-pressure outlets for proper oil distribution.

Three Control Modes
Constant power control lowers displacement under heavy loads to protect the engine and maximize power utilization.
LS load sensing supplies flow based on actual needs and keeps low displacement at idle for better fuel economy.
HP pressure cut-off limits pump displacement at peak pressure to protect hydraulic pipes and cylinders from rupture.

Common Failures
Internal leakage from worn pistons or valve plate, as well as regulator jamming, will make the machine run slowly and weakly.
Regulator fixed at full displacement causes engine overload, accompanied by black smoke and stall under heavy loads.
Heavy internal leakage generates extra heat and leads to overheated hydraulic oil.
Pipeline air intake, low oil level or damaged internal parts will produce strange noise during operation.

Maintenance
Carry out regular oil and filter replacement to prevent component wear. Keep suction lines fully sealed against air entry and equipment shaking. Always keep hydraulic oil at the rated level to protect the pump.
