Commonly referred to as a drain pin cover, valve cap or dust cover in the construction machinery sector, the excavator distribution valve drain plug cover is the protective outer cap for the small vent and drain plug of the main hydraulic multi‑way valve.
I. Product Features
• Material: Predominantly cast iron or cast aluminum, with plastic‑made options on the market.
• Shape: Compact disc or cup shape, adopting threaded or clip‑on connection, with a diameter ranging from 20 to 40 mm.
• Installation Location: Situated on the side or bottom of the main distribution valve, adjacent to the spool end cap and oil‑drain outlet.
Functions
• Shields the drain plug. Equipped with a micro‑orifice, the drain plug discharges accumulated water, dirt and air inside the valve body. The outer cap prevents soil, grit, rock fragments and iron particles from blocking the bore or causing spool seizure.
• Guards against oil leakage and unintended contact. Heavy vibration occurs during excavator operation. The cover compresses the drain plug tightly to avoid loosening, which would result in hydraulic oil escape, pressure loss and weak working performance.
• Offers dust‑proofing and corrosion resistance. Construction environments contain abundant dust and muddy water. The cover isolates contaminants and moisture, protecting threads and sealing surfaces from rust sticking and hard disassembly in maintenance.

• Inspection: Examine the cover for looseness, fractures and oil seepage in every maintenance cycle.
• Maintenance: Remove mud and deposits around the cover, then tighten it reliably to prevent slackness.
• Replacement: Timely replace damaged covers with cracks, stripped threads or failed sealing. Despite its low price, it is essential; delayed replacement triggers valve internal pollution and machine malfunctions.
