Final Drive Reduction Gearbox E320D2 Excavator Machinery Parts Travel Motor Reduction Gearbox

The excavator swing reducer, known as the swing gearbox in construction machinery, is a vital transmission unit joining the slewing motor to the large slewing gear ring. Its key functions are decelerating rotation and amplifying torque, enabling steady full‑circle slewing of the upper superstructure assembly.

Main Component Framework

Sun Gear: Mated with the slewing motor spline section for high‑speed power reception.
Planet Gears: Each stage includes 3 to 4 gears that revolve around and self‑rotate on the sun gear for torque delivery.
Ring Gear: Permanently secured to the housing and engages with planetary gear sets.
Planet Carrier: Transmits output power to drive the lower small driving gear wheel.
Brake: Integrated wet multi‑plate braking mechanism, spring‑locked and hydraulically released to prevent reverse slewing motion.
Housing and Bearings: Heavy‑duty high‑strength steel housing supported by high‑capacity bearings, dust‑proof and oil‑leakage‑resistant.

Power featuring high rotational speed and low torque from the hydraulic motor flows through the sun gear, first‑stage and second‑stage planetary groups to the output carrier. The pinion gear spins at low speed with high torque, meshing with the slewing bearing inner ring to drive upper‑structure rotation.

Regular Operational Issues and Root Causes

Unusual sound and unstable operation status: Gear wear and pitting corrosion, bearing breakdown, insufficient dirty lubricating oil, unsuitable gear meshing backlash.
Oil permeation and leakage malfunctions: Degraded sealing elements, housing structural fissures, excessive lubricant level, blocked breather outlets.
