E307 Excavator Gear Box Bracket Travel Reduction Gear Planetary Gear Parts Excavator Machinery Parts

As a core transmission component for excavators, the swing reducer (popularly swing gearbox in construction machinery) connects the slewing motor to the large slewing gear ring. Its primary functions are deceleration and torque enhancement, delivering stable 360° rotation of the upper machine assembly.

Critical Structural Layout

Sun Gear: Attached to slewing motor splines to input high‑speed rotational power.
Planet Gears: Each stage has 3‑4 gears that orbit and spin on the sun gear for torque transfer.
Ring Gear: Rigidly installed on the housing and meshes with planetary gear units.
Planet Carrier: Transmits output power to drive the lower small drive gear wheel.
Brake: Internal wet multi‑plate brake mechanism; springs engage it and hydraulic pressure releases it to stop reverse slewing.
Housing and Bearings: High‑strength steel housing (cast or forged) fitted with heavy‑load bearings for dust and leakage protection.

Hydraulic motor‑generated high‑speed low‑torque power passes through the sun gear and two‑stage planetary groups to the planet carrier. The low‑speed high‑torque pinion meshes with the slewing bearing inner gear ring, enabling upper‑body slewing motion.

Frequent Operational Defects and Root Causes

Odd noise and jittery operation: Gear abrasion, pitting defects, bearing malfunctions, contaminated lubricating oil, inappropriate meshing clearance.
Oil leakage and seepage problems: Damaged oil seals, housing fractures, overfilled lubricant level, clogged ventilation holes.
Lazy or underpowered rotation: Worn gear/bearing parts, partial brake release, internal hydraulic motor leakage, mismatched gear ratio.
Overheating problems: Low oil quantity, deteriorated lubricant, overload conditions, continuous brake friction, weak heat dissipation.
Gear skipping and tooth fracture: Impact loads, foreign substance intrusion, fatigue degradation, assembly‑caused shaft offset.
