Product Description

DH225-9 170402-00028 Excavator Travel Reduction Gearbox Excavator Machinery Parts Final Drives with Planetary Gears

The travel reducer (daily‑called travel gearbox) for excavators is a core transmission part that links the hydraulic motor to the track drive wheel. It functions to cut rotational speed and increase torque, delivering low‑speed high‑torque driving power for track operation.
Core Structure (Three‑Stage Planetary Gear Construction)
• Sun Gear: Connected to hydraulic motor input end and works as power supply source.
• Planet Gears: 3 to 4 pieces rotating around the sun gear and self‑spinning for power transfer.
• Ring Gear (Internal Gear Ring): Fixed or floating structure engaging with planet gears.
• Planet Carrier: Outputs power to drive reducer shell and track drive wheel unit.
• Shell and Bearings: High‑strength shell provides dust‑proof and leak‑proof capability; heavy‑load bearings support rotating movement.
• Brake: Built‑in multi‑plate parking brake with hydraulic release and spring application, preventing downhill sliding risks.
Working Principle
High‑speed low‑torque power produced by hydraulic motor enters travel reducer → three‑stage planetary gears conduct stepwise deceleration → low‑speed high‑torque power is delivered out → drives tracks for traveling operation.
Common Malfunctions and Triggering Reasons

Abnormal or excessive operational noise: Gear wear damage, bearing breakdown, insufficient lubricant supply or deteriorated oil quality.
Oil leakage fault: Aging sealing parts, shell cracks, excessively high oil filling level.
Weak traveling power / Track misalignment: Worn gears or bearings, brake release malfunction, performance imbalance of left and right reducers.
Overheating fault: Overload running condition, ineffective lubrication, weak heat dissipation performance, brake dragging phenomenon.
Gear jumping or sticking fault: Broken gear teeth structure, impaired planet carrier, intrusion of external impurities.
